Quint is a recurring antagonist in the Mega Man game series. He is a villain of Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 5 for the Game Boy. He later makes minor appearances in Mega Man & Bass and Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future. He is armed with a jackhammer/pogo-stick weapon, called the Sakugarne.

He has an unusual origin; in Mega Man 2, Dr. Wily travels to the future and kidnaps Mega Man. He reprograms his captive and brings him back to the present, in the hopes that the reprogrammed Mega Man, now going by the name "Quint," can defeat his past self. There is some inconsistency about his origin, however; in the Japanese version of Mega Man and Bass, his entry in the character database instead states that he was built in the future by Dr. Wily.

Rockman Shadow (AKA R-Shadow), the chief villain in the Japan-only Wonderswan title Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future, bears a striking resemblance to Quint. He makes the Mega Man of the present believe that he is an upgraded version of his future self, Quint. When R-Shadow is defeated at the end of that game, he reveals that he is not Quint, but rather a robot totally different from Mega Man. Rockman Shadow is apparently an earlier robot built just before Wily remodelled the real Mega Man from the future, making him a prototype since he was based on Quint's designs. He was discarded because he was deemed only a test by Dr. Wily. This made R-Shadow eventually revolt. The ending depicts his death and even his "spirit" leaving his body. However, it seems that Dr. Light repairs him in a later scene, apparently staying on good terms with Mega Man. The real Quint (ie. the same robot as Mega Man) makes a very minor cameo towards the end, however.

Quint also appears in the character database of Mega Man and Bass.
