Quinceañera is a Mexican telenovela, which was produced by and broadcasted on Televisa in 1987. It was the first in a starring role for Adela Noriega and Thalía, a singer then member of the pop band Timbiriche. It was the second story written for television by René Muñoz, a Cuban-born actor. This was also the first telenovela to talk about drugs, rape and gangs.

Maricruz (Adela Noriega) and Beatriz (Thalía) are classmates and best friends, although Maricruz is poor and Beatriz is of a wealthy family. They are both 14 and excited about their quinceañera parties. Pancho (Ernesto Laguardia) and Memo (Sebastián Ligarde) are attracted to Maricruz. Maricruz accepts the love of Pancho, a mechanic and Memo, a gang member, drugs Maricruz and makes her believe he raped her so she will break up with Pancho. At the same time Gerardo, Maricruz's brother, starts dating Beatriz upon the pressure that Maricruz's mother has put on their children to attempt to escalate in society.
