Quinan, Nova Scotia

Quinan is a small village in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, about 20 minutes in land from the town of Yarmouth.

This village is named after Father John J. Quinan who served as parish priest from 1860 - 1867. Every year during the Labor Day Weekend in September, the community greets people from everywhere. There are activities like Bingo, rose tables and rides as well as a Turkey Supper. Quinan is well known for its fishing and hunting places. Many famous people have visited the village like the "Battering Bambino" (Babe Ruth) back in the Fall of 1935.
