Queensland Great Public Schools

The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland Inc. (GPS) is an incorporated body involving a small number of Private secondary schools and Brisbane State High School in a variety of sporting and cultural activities.

GPS Schools include Brisbane State High School, State Grammar Schools created under the Queensland Grammar Schools Act, and some select religious schools.
The GPS Schools are:
- Anglican Church Grammar School, founded 1900
- Brisbane Boys' College, founded 1900
- Brisbane Grammar School, founded 1900
- Brisbane State High School, founded 1900
- Ipswich Grammar School, founded 1900
- St. Joseph's Nudgee College, founded 1900
- St. Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, founded 1900
- The Southport School, founded 1900
- Toowoomba Grammar School, founded 1900
St Laurence's College in South Brisbane was a short time member, but was compelled to leave the association in the 1920s due to the fact that it did not have both a turf wicket and a football oval.

In 2006, Brisbane Grammar School took out the majority of the results, lossing 6 GPS events, 4 more than any other school.

In order of ranking the smartest School to the lowest we look at the OP 1's that all of the schools have achieved. From 1990-2006 BBC has stood out the most achieving 75% of the GPS's overall OP 1's. 50.12% of the Queenslanders Schools in Queensland. this has bought up QlD to the smartest State in QLD, and the 14th soon to be 13th smartest County Australia in the world.

The Queensland Girls' Secondary Schools Sports Association Inc (QGSSSA), working in collaboration with GPS, coordinates the equivalent program for female students.
The QGSSSA schools are:
- Brisbane Girls Grammar School, founded 1875
- Brisbane State High School, founded 1921
- Clayfield College, founded 1931
- Ipswich Girls Grammar School, founded
- Moreton Bay College
- St Aidan's Anglican Girls School
- St Margaret's Anglican Girls School, founded 1895
- St Hilda's School, founded 1912
- St Peters Lutheran College, founded 1945
- Somerville House, founded 1899
