Quasicontraction semigroup

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In mathematics, a C0-semigroup Γ(t), t \geq 0, is called a quasicontraction semigroup if there is a constant ω such that \| \Gamma (t) \| \leq \exp ( \omega t ) for all t \geq 0. Γ(t) is called a contraction semigroup if \| \Gamma (t) \| \leq 1 for all t \geq 0.
