QRNational is a multi million dollar expansion of Queensland Rail's freight business, centering around the re-branding of QR's Coal and Freight Services division.
Queensland Rail is spending $446 million to buy the rolling stock, depots and customer contracts of the Australian Railroad Group in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
Premier Peter Beattie said that QRNational will provide a freight service from Cairns to Perth.
