PZL P.11c Polish fighter
Polish PZL P.11c fighter. This particular picture shows one of the fighters captured by the Germans in the effect of the Polish Defensive War and used by the Luftwaffe for pilot training on the Kraków-Balice airport. It bears the same markings as the only PZL P.11c fighter surviving to our times, currently held in the museum of the Polish Army in Kraków. However, this particular fighter is original aeroplane, contrary to the modern plane which is a mixture of several different fighters that survived the war and were combined into a single plane.
First published in a German WWII propaganda magazine Signal in December of 1939, without any copyright notice. As such it is thought to be in public domain as there is no legal successor to the Nazi German government. It is not clear whether the picture was originally in colour or was coloured afterwards by the magazine editors.
- The legal successor to the Nazi regime is the Federal Republic of Germany
