- [1] Possible replacement. It is from what appears to be the "Press Information Bureau" of India. I have no idea what their copyright deal is. But I will look into it. --MaxPower 15:35, 2005 Feb 2 (UTC)
- Also, this looks like it *might* be re-createable.--MaxPower 15:41, 2005 Feb 2 (UTC)
- Would prefer the recreate option - the Govt. India image is very poor. --Tagishsimon (talk)
- I'd prefer to keep the current image, and figure out how to tag it. It might be PD, and if it's not, a fair use claim could be made, right? – Quadell (talk) (sleuth)
- Another Indian Medal Image:Pvc.jpg is tagged PD by the uploader. Indian copyright seems in goverment works seems to last 60 years from publication (in this case the medal was designed in 1954) so it seems to be still covered by copyright. The image seems to be a simple record of the medal, not a creative act, so not creating new copyright. A fair use, or fair dealing, case I think can be made. This image is greatly inferior to the orginal, and doesen't detract from the value of the orginal. Moreover it is being used illustratively. Tag as fairuse, with note that it will enter public domain in 2014. Also tag Image:Pvc.jpg as fairuse — Zeimusu | Talk 10:21, 2005 Feb 7 (UTC)
