The names apparently come from Maya History and Religion by Eric Thompsom rather than Maya sources (Chontal is apparently Nauatl) but I want to check to see exactly what he says. He should also be a good source for the oft made comparison to the Germanic barbarians who participated in the downfall of the (Western) Roman Empire, or maybe a good quote; Thompson is quite quotable.
