Putney is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
Putney is quiet boutique suburb located within the municipality of Ryde (sharing same postcode 2112) with beautifull views of the Parammatta river.
Putney is centrally located in the Sydney metropolitan area, it is approxiamately 10 to 15kms away from all the major business districts Sydney, Chatswood, North Sydney, Paramatta, Strathfield.
Two Sydney Buses routes pass through here, the 537 and the 507 which go to the City and Macquarie University. Also close by is Meadowbank train station.
Also at Putney wharf there is a 20 minute ferry ride that goes to the city.
Putney consists of a primary school, post office, sporting fields, parks, a shopping area and a few restaurants. A public swimming pool is close by at Ryde recreation centre.
