From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Put the Rifle Down are an indie-dance band from Toronto, Canada. They are a 3-person manifestation of a single DJ, merging live percussion and performance with sequenced drum and keyboards. Known locally for their Program Selector dance parties [1], Put the Rifle Down signed with Montreal electro imprint Summer Lovers Unlimited[2] (known for their notable indie-avant roster which includes Duchess Says, The Teenagers, Crystal Castles) in 2006. They've shared the stage with many notable acts including We Are Wolves, Debaser, Tokyo Police Club, and The Early Morning, and played festival showcases at Pop Montreal, Wavelength and North By Northeast.

Their S.L.U. debut is due out in early 2007.
