Pussycat (Robot)

Pussycat was a contestant on Robot Wars Series 3-5 and also Series 7. It was a rough pyramid shape with four wheels at the bottom and a circular caw at the tip. Is was named "Pussycat" because its unique design allowed it to land right on its wheels in almost all circumstances.
Pussycat was the work of Alan Gribble of Team Cold Fusion, responsible for the creation of Series 1 Finalist Bodyhammer.

[edit] Round 1 vs.Hammerhead
Hammerhead drove into Pussycat, but Pussycat used its circular saw. Hammerhead tried to us its hammer but it got stuck in the arena floor. Pussycat then pushed it into the pit.
[edit] Round 2 vs. Cassius 2
Cassius II started quickly and smashed into Pussycat, knocking it over. Pussycat attacked and bounced over Cassius II, Cassius II then used its long spike, knocking Pussycat over a short distance. It then reversed at Pussycat, which had moved out of the way, so Cassius II ended up in the pit.
[edit] Round 3 vs. Scutter's Revenge
This was a controversial battle. Scutter's Revenge pushed Pussycat into the wall, before it was driven over by Pussycat. Pussycat then hit the arena wall and its blade shattered. Meanwhile Scutter's Revenge had caught fire, and it was attacked by the house robots.One of the Robot Wars rules states that "hardened blades that may shatter are prohibited". As a results of this Pussycat was disqualified, and Scutter's Revenge won by default.

[edit] Round 1 vs. Milly Ann Bug vs. Reptirron
Pussycat ignored Milly-Ann Bug and went straight for Reptirron, cutting its fuel lines. Milly Ann Bug and Pussycat went through
[edit] Round 2 vs. Robochicken
Robochicken was slowly torn to shreds by Pussycat. An eye was sawn off, then the flipper immobilised. Robochicken ended up getting shoved in the pit.
[edit] Round 3 vs. Razer
The fight started evenly until Razer ran into the wall and got stuck there. Pussycat proceeded to completely destroy Razer.
[edit] Round 4 vs. Thermidor 2
Thermidor 2 flipped Pussycat many times at the start of the battle, tossing it into the air. it also managed to avoid the invertable Pussycat's blade. However, Pussycat recovered and attacked, slicing through the top armour of Thermidor 2. It chased Thermidor 2 at the end and attacked the rear, before the judges' decision.
[edit] Round 5 vs. Dominator 2
Pussycat attacked Dominator 2's weakness - its wheels. Dominator 2 then chased Pussycat, but its wheels were attacked again. Dominator 2 then attacked with its axe and pushed Pussycat into Matilda's CPZ. Pussycat then rammed into Dominator 2's side, and Dominator 2's bodyshell started to come off. Once again, the judges decided on the winner.
[edit] Round 6 vs. Hypno-Disc
Pussycat drove into Hypno-Disc's rear just before it got away to get the disc up to speed and caused damage to one of the wheels with its circular saw. This meant that Hypno-Disc had severe control problems. Pussycat pushed it into Shunt's CPZ, who slammed its axe down into Hypno-Disc's disc. This damage meant that Hypno-Disc could not continue to fight.
[edit] Round 7 vs. Chaos 2
Pussycat drove into Chaos 2's side, and Chaos 2 used its flipper. It dodged Pussycat and flipped Pussycat onto its side. Chaos 2 tossed Pussycat around the arena, until Pussycat retaliated by driving into Chaos 2's front and rear, ripping the rear cover off. Chaos 2 seemed to be going slowly at the end, but Pussycat was also having grip problems and got stuck on its side. Chaos 2 nearly flipped Pussycat out of the arena at the end, but again the judges decided the winner. Series Winner: Chaos 2

[edit] Round 1 vs. The Executioner
The executioner got a good start and clawed onto the blade of Pussycat. No damage was caused, and Pussycat got free. Then The Executioner drove into Matilda's blade and the tip of its crusher was ripped off. Pussycat then pushed The Executioner down the pit, and out.
[edit] Round 2 vs. Clawed Hopper
Pussycat started to lay into Clawed Hopper, who made a fairly easy target. The side weapons of Clawed Hopper fell off, but the match did go to the judges. Pussycat was declared the winner.
[edit] Round 3 vs. Fluffy
Both robots attacked, but Fluffy hit Pussycat's blade square on, causing Pussycats blade to fly clear off. It also took off one of Pussycat's front castors making the robot impossible to drive. However, Fluffy then broke down.
[edit] Round 4 vs. Panic Attack
Panic Attack wasn't able to put up a good fight in this one. It was suffering from radio interfence problems and couldn't be properly controlled. It got stuck in with the House Robots, but did get free. Pussycat attacked and broke Panic Attack's weapon and that was the end of it. Later, the Panic Attack team found that a loose screw had grounded (earthed) on the shell, causing the interfence.
[edit] Round 5 vs. Firestorm 3
Firestorm was quickly on the attack against Pussycat, pushing, flipping and getting it into the House Robots. Pussycat got a few hits in, and it went to the judges - who gave the fight to Firestorm III.

[edit] Round 1 vs. Brutus Maximus vs. Roobarb vs. Twister
Brutus Maximus fell apart. The judges had to choose who else went out. They chose to eliminate Twister, Roobarb and Pussycat to go through.

M2 beat Pussycat on a judge's decision
