Punjabi Bagh

Punjabi Bagh is an area of Delhi, India.

Considered one of the most upper class areas in West Delhi, Punjabi Bagh has seen rapid commercial growth since the mid-nineties with the opening of innumerable banks, restaurants, health clubs and other businesses in the area. Rich Sikh businessmen and people who migrated from Pakistan after partition constitute a significant part of the population. The adjacent area of paschim vihar is also well planned and a very beautiful locality. It houses some famous schools of Delhi, such as the Hans Raj Model School and some specialty hospitals like the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital which has scaled to new heights in the field of medicine during the last few years.[citation needed]

Divided into 2 parts mainly the East and the West Punjabi Bagh it is well connected to various parts of the city and has a fairly good bus network and amazing roads. It is also well connected to the Metro as the nearest metro station is about 3kms from the main Punjabi Bagh junction.

For recreation and social gatherings there is an elite club called the Punjabi Bagh Club mainly for the residents of Punjabi Bagh offering a lot of facilities like swimming, lawn tennis, Bar & Restaurant, Wedding Lawns etc. Considered as the happening place of Punjabi Bagh[citation needed] it has many rich and affluent people as its members with membership rates going as high as b/w 5-8 lakhs for a lifetime membership.
