Punggol Point LRT Station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Punggol Point LRT station (PW3) is a LRT station on the Punggol LRT Line West Loop in Singapore. It is currently not open for service due to little development around the area. It is operated by SBS Transit.

The station sits on a vacant plot of land off Punggol 17th Avenue; near a cluster of landed property on this North-East tip of the island of Singapore. It is conveniently situated just a couple of minutes from NorthPoint Cottages and Northshore Bungalows, as well as the Saint Francis Xavier Major Seminary.

Just a stone's throw away from the previous prestigious Punngol Marina (now known as Marina Country Club & Resort), this station is awaiting future residential and commercial development. As the growth of new housing developments in this area has slowed down tremendously since 2001, this part of the West Loop of Punggol's completed LRT tracks may be unutilised for many years to come.

[edit] Etymology
