Psuedo-Kshatriya

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are many small caste/communties in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Orissa that are Kshatriyas as they have community legends that state they were soldiers in Telugu armies. They were once rulers or warriors of ancient empires and have interesting legends that explain how they either were descendents of Satavahanas, Kalachuris, etc or during times of war were recruited into the army and became commanders and distinguished members of highly specialized commando forces.
