PSGuard
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
PSGuard is a malware program that pretends to be an antispyware program, while it is not. See the rogue software article for more information.
PS Guard is considered one of the most unpleasant adware programs.[citation needed] It is indicated by a popup in the system tray, alerting you that your computer is infected with spyware. Opening the popup results in a download of PS Guard malware, which loads on each boot and gives exaggerated alerts that your computer is infected with spywares. PS Guard also creates documents in the registry and system32 program files. It may also hijack the desktop, changing it to a plain blue wallpaper with the words "Danger Spyware" written in the background. PS Guard can be removed by booting in safe mode and deleting the malware from the control panel.
