PSG College of Arts and Science

PSG College of Arts and Science, affectionately called PSG CAS, is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institute located in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu, India). It was founded in 1947 by the Managing Trustee Sri G.R. Govindarajulu and the founder Principal Dr. G.R. Damodaran. Under the leadership of Dr. G.R. Damodaran, the college nurtured the early entrepreneurs that ushered in the industrial revolution in Coimbatore.

Let there be charity so that other people may share my family's prosperity
said Sri. P.S.Govindasamy Naidu, and it remains as the motto of the college so far. He believed firmly that Charity begins at home.
Thus was born PSG College of Arts and Science in the year 1947 to the PSG & Sons Charities Trust which was founded in the year 1926 by the four praise-worthy sons of P.S. Govindasamy Naidu, the four brothers of the PSG family, Thiru PSG Venkataswamy Naidu, Thiru PSG Rangaswamy Naidu, Thiru PSG Ganga Naidu and Thiru PSG Narayanaswamy Naidu who took "Charity through Education" with great missionary zeal.
Upto 1978, the college was affiliated to Madras University. Now the college is affiliated to Bharathiar University.

- 1978 - Got Autonomous status confirmed.
- 2003 - Became ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution.
- 2004 - Identified as a College with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission (India)
[edit] Courses Offered
Twenty two Undergraduate including various arts and science courses, like BA Economics, Sociology, English and Tamil and BSc courses like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science are offererd.
Twenty one Postgraduate programmes are offered. M.Phil and Ph.D programmes are offered in Seventeen faculties.
