[edit] WP:CP discussion

  • Protective tariff from [1]. - Vague | Rant 07:40, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)
    • This appears to be another project of LoveToKnow, the people behind 1911encyclopedia.org. The source, The Great Republic by the Master Historians, is PD (circa 1912) and there are other online copies available, e.g. here. It's not clear that anyone can claim copyright in their (presumably) scanned/OCRed version of the text (see Wikipedia:1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica for information); nor is clear by what route this version came into Wikipedia. The Chinese characters might be a clue, but they're beyond my ken; however, as the definition at the top is from WordNet [2], or one of its many mirrors, they probably have a diferent source than the "Great Historians" text below. --rbrwr± 12:47, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)
It's public domain OK, but it's very old low quality history that does not meet Wiki standards. We have MUCH better treatment. Rjensen 11:35, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge?

Shouldn't this be merged with tariff? Is this term significant enough to warrant its own article outside of tariff? Please let me know if there's any objections to that. --BWD (talk) 06:02, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
