Protectorate Jack
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Protectorate Jack was the flag of the Protectorate from 1658 to 1660. It consisted of the Union Flag with an Irish harp in the centre. The Protectorate Jack replaced the Commonwealth Jack and was in turn replaced by the restored Union Flag symbolising the united crowns of England and Scotland, in 1660, following the restoration of the monarchy under King Charles II. The Union Flag, in a redesigned form, became the official flag of the Kingdom of Great Britain in 1707.
