Prospect Hill Academy

Prospect Hill Academy is a Charter school in Somerville, Massachusetts and Cambridge, Massachusetts, teaching children in grades K to 12. It was founded by a group of parents in 1996 as the Somerville Charter School. Its mission is to:
- Prepare each student for success in college
- Inspire a lifelong love of learning
- Foster responsible citizenship
The school estimates that its 700+ students come from Somerville (47%), Medford (14%), Cambridge (11%), Everett (7%), Malden (5%), and Boston (1%). The remaining students come from other communities in Eastern Massachusetts.
The ethnic mix of students is diverse, 45% African American, 29% Caucasian, 19% Hispanic, 6% Asian, and 1% American Indian/Alaskan. There are as many boys as girls.
Beginning with the 2006-07 school year there will be 3 campuses:
1.) 15 Webster Avenue, Somerville, Massachusetts (lower school) grades K-4
2.) 17 Franklin Street, Somerville, Massachusetts (middle school) grades 5-8
3.) 50 Essex Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts (upper school) grades 9-12
