Project Scotland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project Scotland is a scheme currently backed by the Scottish Executive allowing 16-25 year olds to volunteer on a formal basis with a variety of non-profit organisations. All placements are at least 30 hours per week and last for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of one year.

Volunteers can choose to claim a £55 subsistence allowance from Project Scotland or claim Jobseeker's Allowance, and travel expenses are refunded. After six months, volunteers become eligible for a Personal Development Fund of up to £1,500.
