Brendon King, also known as Isreal, is a South Carolina-born rapper. He is known for his mellifluous flow and lyrical skill. The moniker results from friends calling him "real and deep" when he would rap.
Profound graduated from high school and went to college, majoring in Radio/Television Broadcasting, but left mid-year. After the drop out, he purchased studio equipment and began working on his rhyme skills and music production. Once his production was off and running, he started going to open mics and quickly became recognized for his witty metaphors and lyrical content. Profound opened for several local and well-known acts, including Bad Boy "Making the Band" artists.
Profound started an indie record label in 2003. After three and a half years of producing, he released his debut album and in indie-style, skipped the middle-man and went straight to the public. "A Look at the World Thru a Stained Glass Window" was placed in rotation at a local record store and helped create a buzz.
The good response from the public motivated him to push for radio play. Not being signed with a major label, stations lacked the confidence to take a chance on the independant act. Perseverance finally got his song "South Kak" in rotation on a local station. To expand and solidify his career in the industry, Profound moved to the birthplace of HipHop- New York- in the latter part of 2005.
He is currently recording his sophmore album with rumored titles of "Hip Hop's Last Stand", "The Resurrection" and "Picture Perfect" and continues to work with local artists.
