Probie

Probie is a term used by firefighters and police officers to identify a probationary firefighter, or rookie. For instance, in the TV series NCIS, Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) is referred to as "Probie", by Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), and on the show Rescue Me, Mike Silletti, played by Michael Lombardi is called "Probie."
