ProSpace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ProSpace is a nonprofit citizens advocacy group 501(c)(4) with the mission "to open the space frontier for ALL people as rapidly as possible."
The members of ProSpace are private citizens from all walks of life and from all across the United States, each with a deep and abiding interest in America's national space enterprise.
Since 1995, many of the group's members have traveled to Washington, D.C. at their own expense to speak directly to the leaders of the nation at an annual event known as "March Storm." They do this because of their strong beliefs about the direction of the country's efforts in space - in the past, present and future.
[edit] ProSpace's stated philosophy
We believe that space is a PLACE, not a government program.
We believe that space is in fact the new frontier.
We believe that for our efforts in space to be considered a success, the opportunities that exist there must be open to all Americans.
We believe it is our government's role to formulate and implement a National Space Policy with the central goal of opening the space frontier as rapidly as possible.
We believe it is time for our government to demonstrate true leadership by empowering all of our citizens to participate in the national space enterprise.
We Must Change The Way We Look At All Of Our Efforts In Space
Space must no longer be seen as the exclusive domain of the government.
American citizens must share in these efforts as more than just spectators and taxpayers.
Private efforts and commercial space ventures must be enabled and encouraged, rather than hindered and thwarted.
