ProCurve is the name given to a line of Network Switches, Wireless Access Points, WAN Routers, and Access Control Servers/Software produced by HP.

ProCurve products feature lower Cost Of Ownership compared to their principle competitor, Cisco, and most (particularly the mid-tier networking equipment) also include a "lifetime warranty"* with Next Business Day advanced replacement available in most locations, free telephone support during HP business hours, and free Firmware Updates for life. As HP's principle marketshare is in the same arena as that of Cisco, HP's marketing is based on these advantages; Cisco has a reputation for expensive products, with proprietary technologies, and (increasingly) paid-for warranties (the majority of their products ship with a 1-year warranty).

  • The ProCurve Routing Switch 9300m series, ProCurve Routing Switch 9408sl, ProCurve Switch 8100fl series, have a 1-year warranty with extensions available. All other ProCurve products come with a lifetime next day advance replacement warranty.

A variety of different switches are marketed by HP for different purposes within a LAN.

  • 9400sl - Has 8 slots, supporting up to 32 10GbE ports / 380 Gb Ports / 320 SFP_transceivers (known by ProCurve as MiniGBICs)
  • 9300m series - Has either 4/8/15 Slots for up to 28 10GbE ports / 232 Gb Ports / 672 10/100 Ports

  • 8100fl series - Has either 8 or 16 slots, supporting up to 16 10GbE ports / 160 Gb Ports / 160 mini SFP_transceivers

  • 6200yl - Stackable switch, with 24 SFP_transceiver ports, and the capability of 10GbE ports
  • 6400cl series - Stackable switch, with either CX4 10GbE ports or X2 10GbE ports
  • 6108 - Stackable switch, with Gb ports, and a further 2 Dual Personality ports (either Gb or SFPs)

  • 5400zl series - Chassis based, in either 6 or 12 slot bays. They support up to 48 10GbE ports, 288 Gb ports, or 192 SFPs. Powered by a combination of either 875w or 1500w PSU's, to provide a maximum of 1800w of power for PoE
  • 5300xl series - Chassis based, in either 4 or 8 slot bays. Supports up to 192 10/100 ports or 128 Gb ports. There is also PoE module, a Wireless Edge Services Module or Access Control Modules available for use in this switch.
  • 4200vl series - Chassis based, in either 4 or 8 slot bays. Supports up to 192 10/100 ports or 128 Gb ports, or 32 SFPs.
  • 4100gl series - Chassis based, in either 4 or 8 slot bays. Supports up to 192 10/100 ports or 160 Gb ports, or 16 SFPs.
  • 3500yl series - Stackable, Layer 3, 20 or 44 Gb port switch with PoE functionality, and 4 x Dual Personality Ports (2 x Gb or SFP). Also capable of supporting 10GbE ports.
  • 3400cl series - Stackable, Layer 3, 20 or 44 Gb port switch, and 4 x Dual Personality Ports (2 x Gb or SFP). Also capable of supporting 10GbE ports.
  • 2900 series - Stackable, 20 or 44 Gb ports with 4 Dual Personality Ports (2 x Gb or GBIC). Additionally includes four 10GbE ports (two of which are CX-4 and 2x of which are capable of housing optional 10GbE optical transceivers).
  • 2810 series - Stackable, 20 or 44 Gb ports with 4 Dual Personality Ports (2 x Gb or GBIC).
  • 2800 series - Stackable, 20 or 44 Gb ports with 4 Dual Personality Ports (2 xGb or 2 xSFPs).
  • 2600 series (including 2600-PWR models which support 802.3af PoE) Stackable, 8, 24 or 48 10/100 ports with 1 or 2 Dual Personality Ports (1 x Gb or SFP).
  • 2510 series - Stackable, Fanless 24 10/100 ports with 2 Dual Personality Ports (1 x Gb or SFP).
  • 2500 series - Stackable, 12 or 24 10/100 ports with 2 transceiver slots.
  • 1800 series - Stackable, Fanless 8 or 24 Gb ports. The 1800-24G also has 2 Dual Personality Ports (2 x Gb or SFP).

  • AP-530 - Dual radios support simultaneous 802.11a and 802.11b/g transmissions. The AP-530 has two integrated radios (one of which is tri-band 802.11a/b/g; the other of which is dual-band 802.11b/g).
  • AP-420 - Features a single, dual-diversity 802.11b/g radio.
