Prljavo kazalište
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Prljavo kazalište is a rock band from Croatia. The band was formed in 1977 in Zagreb. Their name is Croatian for 'Dirty Theatre'. On October 17 1989 the band played an unforgettable show in Zagreb, in front of approximately 250,000–300,000 people at Ban Jelačić square. The concert was especially memorable because the word "Croatia" was said for the first time (something that wasn't allowed in communist Yugoslavia) in the song "Ruža Hrvatska." In war times Prljavo Kazalište became one of the most famous bands in Croatia, as it was one of the few bands from the Novi val movement that espoused Croatian patriotism and thus was not confined to the margin.
