Prix Noailles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix Noailles is a Group 2 flat horse race in France for three-year-old thoroughbreds (excluding geldings) run over a distance of 2,100 metres (approximately 1 mile 2½ furlongs) at Longchamp Racecourse in April.
It was first run in 1878 as the Prix du Nabob and was re-named in 1896 in memory of Comte Alfred de Noailles, a leading figure in French racing who died the previous year. The present distance was set in 2005, prior to which the race had been run at 2,200 metres (1 mile 3 furlongs) since 1947.
