Prix Corrida
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix Corrida is a Group 2 flat horse race in France for four-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares run over a distance of 2,100 metres (approximately 1 mile 2½ furlongs) at Saint-Cloud Racecourse in late May / early June.
It was first run in 1979 and is named in memory of the racemare Corrida, winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in 1936 and 1937.
The race began a five year period away from Saint-Cloud in 1994, firstly at Evry for two years, and then at Lyon, over a distance of 2,200 metres (1 mile 3 furlongs), before returning to its original venue in 2000. It was promoted to Group 2 level in 2004, having previously been classed as Group 3.
