Prince Nikolai of Denmark (Nikolai William Alexander Frederik) (b. 28 August 1999) is the eldest child of HRH Prince Joachim and HH Princess Alexandra. He was born at the Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital). Prince Nikolai was christened in chapel of Fredensborg Palace on 6 November 1999. His godparents are Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, The Earl of Wessex, Peter Steentrup, Nicola Baird, and Camilla Flint.

After their divorce, Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra have joint custody of Nikolai and his younger brother, Prince Felix.

As of December, 2006, Prince Nikolai is fourth in the line of succession to the Danish throne. Next to that, he is also 219th in the line of succession to the British throne.
