Primož Brezec (born October 2, 1979 in Postojna, Slovenia) is a Slovenian professional basketball player. He currently plays center for the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Bobcats.
Brezec was born in Postojna, but he grew up in Sežana where he played for a local team Kraski Zidar in the 1st national league of Slovenija. During his high school years was a member of his high school team and a major star of ŠKL league (National high school league). He was known to be very difficult player for the opposing defence; when blocked by the centers he moved outside and started shooting for 3 points. As a professional player he played for KK Union Olimpija from 1998 until 2001.
He was chosen by the Indiana Pacers with the 27th overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft. After three years of little playing time, Brezec was picked up in the 2004 expansion draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. As their starting center, Brezec averaged career-highs of 13 points and 7.4 rebounds per game during the 2004-05 NBA season.
