[edit] Promotion & Relegation

  • The first three teams are promoted into group 5 of the Tercera División-Group 5 with the bottom three teams relegated. Beneath this level is the Preferent Territorial, which consists of two groups of eighteen teams - the champions of each automatically get promoted, with the runners-up in each playing off for the third promotion spot. Feeding into the two groups of the Preferent Territorial is the Primera Territorial which is split into six groups, each with eighteen teams. The bottom four teams in the Preferent Territorial are relegated into the Primera Territorial, with the winners of each Primera Territorial group gaining automatic promotion - again the runners-up in each group play-off to find the remaining promotion candidates.
