Primera B Metropolitana

Primera B Metropolitana is one of the two regionalised leagues that form the third tier in the AFA league system. . The other being Torneo Argentino A.

The 22 participants in Primera B come from Buenos Aires, Argentino A is made up from teams from the rest of the country (El Interior).

The Champions of Primera B gain promotion to Nacional B which is made up of 10 teams from Buenos Aires and 10 from the interior. The next 8 best teams enter a playoff series to determine which team will face the metropolitan team with the 2nd worst points aggregate in the promotion/relegation playoff.

The team with the lowest points aggregate in Primera B is relegated to Primera C Metropolitana, while the team with the 2nd worst points aggregate must play a promotion/relegation playoff with the winner of the Primera C playoff series.
