PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference

A three and a half day long event that is held in the spring and hosted by PRIDE Youth Programs. Participants range in age from middle school to high school. The conference is held in a different major city each year. Students hear the best motivational speakers, workshops, performances and dances.
Each year, the PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference provides a forum and ideas for hundreds of organizations large and small, local, national, and international working together against drug abuse and violence.
Yet, for so serious a subject matter, the conference brims with optimism, music, and a good deal of laughter. It is, in fact, the rejuvenating quality of the PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference that brings many participants back year after year.
Since its beginning at Georgia State University, the conference has evolved into the largest and most comprehensive drug prevention conference offered nationally and internationally.
There are two events that PRIDE teams have the opportunity to show off their talent: the PRIDE Challenge, and the PRIDE Talent Show. Both of these events take place on Wednesday.
On the thursday night of each conference, there is a an awards gala where PRIDE recognizes students, advisors, officers of the law, innovative programs, families at the PRIDE Awards Gala. This is also the night where PRIDE crowns the International PRIDE Youth Programs Team of the Year.
Friday night conference participants take a break from sessions and workshops and enjoy the Muzickfest where thay can hear music, dance, enjoy carnival events, and sing kareoke.
The entire event ends on Saturday afternoon when teams leave the conference center and go bach to their home to spread the drug free message.
