PRIDE Shockwave 2006 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by PRIDE Fighting Championships on December 31, 2006. In Japan, this event is called PRIDE Otoko Matsuri 2006: Fumetsu (PRIDE男祭り2006 -Fumetsu-?). Fumetsu (不滅?) means "immortal" or "undying."

Fighters scheduled to be participating include all four of PRIDE's champions and six of PRIDE's Grand Prix champions.[1] The main event was scheduled to be heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko defending his heavyweight championship against the winner of the Absolute Grand Prix, but Mirko Filipović is recovering from foot surgery he underwent on October 26th and will not be fighting at Shockwave.[2][3] Josh Barnett, the Absolute Grand Prix runner up, was also a contender to face Emelianenko, as mentioned by the heavyweight champion in a PRIDE 32 post-fight press conference, but was "not in the best condition" to compete.[4] Instead, Fedor was said to be defendending his title against Mark Hunt.[4] Other fights that are known to be contracted are lightweight matches between Gilbert Melendez against Tatsuya Kawajiri,[5] Shinya Aoki against Joachim Hansen,[6] and Takanori Gomi against Mitsuhiro Ishida in a non-title fight.[7] A middleweight bout between Mauricio Rua and Kazuhiro Nakamura has also been contracted.[7] Japanese stars Kiyoshi Tamura and Ikuhisa Minowa fighting each other.[8] The most recent bout contracted is former PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira facing Josh Barnett for the second time.[9]
