Preußische Kriegsakademie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Preußische Kriegsakademie in Berlin, founded by Gerhard von Scharnhorst in 1801, was the military academy of Prussia. It was restructured after World War I and dissolved following World War II.
Carl von Clausewitz was one of its first members in 1801.
Having passed the academy successfully was necessary for becoming appointed to the Prussian General Staff, or later the German General Staff. Field Marshals von Steinmetz, von Moltke and von Blumenthal all attended in the 1820s and 1830s.
