From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pretoria Academic Hospital of Pretoria, South Africa, previously called the HF Verwoerd Hospital, is an Academic Training Hospital with 999 beds. The first patients were admitted on 1 March 1932 and ever since this hospital, one of the biggest in the country, has been rendering service to its community as well as to other provinces and even patients from neighbouring countries. It is still sometimes colloquially referred to as HF.

The medical faculty of the University of Pretoria is located at the Prinshof Campus adjoining the hospital.
