Presque Isle

Presque Isle is the name of several places in the United States. Presqu'isle means "peninsula" in the French language (the literal translation is almost an island); presumably the places of that name are located on peninsulas.

There is also the Presquile National Wildlife Refuge on the James River (Virginia)
