Presidio Terrace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Presidio Terrace in San Francisco is a community created for wealthy residents to live after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, next to the newly wooded Presidio. Presidio Terrace was originally intended for white people only: "There is only one spot in San Francisco where only Caucasians are permitted to buy or lease real estate or where they may reside. That place is Presidio Terrace." (advertisement), a policy which was later removed. Architectural styles included Beaux Arts, Mission Revival, and Tudor Revival.
