Presea Combatir is a character from the video game Tales of Symphonia, released by Namco for the Nintendo GameCube and Sony PlayStation 2 (the PlayStation 2 version was released in Japan only). Her English character is played out by voice actor Tara Strong.
Although Presea has the physical appearance of a (cute, pink haired) 12 year old, and although she is the shortest party member, she has relatively high amounts of HP, wields a very large axe (which gives relatively large amounts of physical damage) in battle and is quite slow to move around the battlefield. She is the only character besides Lloyd which does not use magic attacks.
Presea is a lumberjack from the small town of Ozette, in Tethe'alla.

Presea's sister Alicia had left for Altimira, and their father Sieg had become too ill to continue work as a lumberjack. Presea wished to be strong enough to use her father's axe in his place, so she agreed to take part in an experiment which involved using herself as a host body in creating a Cruxis Crystal. The Exsphere increased her strength, however without a working Key Crest, it also halted her physical growth and suppressed her emotions. Under the influence of the Exsphere, Presea did not notice when her father died, and so she did not bury him.

Her personality is based mostly on a gentle, simple woman. Presea's personality doesn't actually kick in until after Lloyd puts Altessa's key crest on her. Presea is relatively forward, not sparing anything on her mind, and not having much thought at all. She tends to just move with everyone else, only stopping to truly take in the situation when the situation is relatively or extremely important.
Although Genis likes Presea, it is obvious that Presea has no true interest in Genis beyond a friend. This is due to her true age of 28. While Genis sees a 12 year old, Presea's brain is working on the scale of a woman in her late 20's. She often forgets her age, and treats Genis like a child. This oftentimes infuriates Genis, where he retorts with comments stating that they are both the same age. This will catch Presea off guard and she will think about how she lost her 16 years.
Presea as stated above, just moves with the group. She doesn't truly think about her actions or behavior until someone points out something or tells her she's doing something awkward. Examples include Presea still talking "Klonoan" outside Altimira, and Presea imitating the Gnome brothers when Colette says they're cute (Presea impersonates them "YOU WANNA MAKE SOMETHING OF IT?!").
Presea's only entity hidden behind this is her feeling of loneliness. She constantly counts herself out (with good reason) and assumes she has no one left to be with. This makes her extremely quiet and very reserved, and thus she usually only speaks when addressed. She dwells on the fact that she has lost 16 years of her life. She does not like talking about her father, and does not like talking about her sister.
Presea has a violent temper. Although hard to anger, Presea will kill when angry. This is shown when she goes after Vharley and attacks Regal in Welgaia (Colette is attacked if Regal is taken hostage). She is not only deadly, but near impossible to calm. This is due to pent up anger from Rodyle tricking her, the loss of her entire family, and many others who have messed her life up.
Presea's comments are similar to that of a stereotypical robot. She provides straight forward answers which sometimes involves calculations. Throughout the game, Presea will say such things as "0.9% escape probability", however it is known that Presea is not a robot.

After the party meets Presea in Meltokio, they eventually help her obtain a working Key Crest. It is revealed that the Exsphere slowed her aging process; although Presea appears to be 12, she is actually 28.
The villagers in Ozette ostracise Presea for being seemingly unable to age, wielding an axe with the body she inhabits, and for not burying her father. Her emotions were suppressed for 16 years, and as such Presea tends to behave like a robot, especially when the party initially meets her. She begins to age again once her key crest is attached.

- Presea has a knack for carving and whittling, and has made figurines and broaches popular in Meltokio.
- Genis has a crush on her (on first sight).
- Presea can gain the title "Dream Traveler", which will change her outfit. Her new outfit is identical to that worn by Klonoa, the star of his own game series.
