Prelude to Dune is a prequel trilogy of novels written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, set in Frank Herbert's Dune universe.

The series takes place in the years leading up to the events in the original novel Dune. These books have enjoyed commercial success, and have introduced the Dune universe to a new generation of fans. They are partially based on the notes left behind by Frank Herbert after his death.
