Preble High School is a public high school located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It is part of the Green Bay Area Public School District, the fifth largest in the state, and had a student enrollment of 2,200 in 2004. Principal Mr. Christopher Wagner currently heads a faculty of 165 teachers, counselors and support staff. [1]

The school was built in 1955 in the town of Preble, an area settled by German immigrants as early as 1836 and later annexed by the City of Green Bay. Preble's namesake is Admiral Preble. [2] Renovations were completed and the school was rededicated in 1999.

Students at Preble High School routinely score above the state and national averages. Curricular activities focus in the arts and technology, with programs in forensics and DNA testing, computer-assisted design, and mathematical analysis. [1] Preble's athletics program is run by director Jack Drankoff. Under his guidance, Boys Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, and Boys and Girls Track and Field have all advanced to the WIAA State tournaments and/or meets. In 2005, senior Steve Marcelle set the state record in shot put with an unofficial throw of 67 feet, 4 inches. He later set the official state record of 67' 8 1/8. [3]

The boys basketball team is on a strong rebound after suffering a .112 win percentage under the 11-year leadership of Coach Michael Wittig. With such a large freshmen class this year with around 600 students the number of students attending Preble High School is around 2,300. ЖC is also looking forward to a trip to the State Meet in 2007, with its strong 2006 junior class, although the leadership of the seniors will be missed and felt throughout the season.

Last year, Preble's CENTER STAGE and RENDEZVOUS went to district Solo and Ensemble and scored a 1*, leading them to state, which both of them got a 1, which is the highest score in the state. CENTER STAGE went to Middleton, Wisconsin to perform in the First Annual Cardinal Classic and was a huge hit! They have performed all around the community, doing performances for the Red Cross and other organizations in the Green Bay area. Sue McAllister and Kevin Flogel run RENDEZVOUS and CENTER STAGE.
