Why the hell does this category exist? This unsigned comment was left by Old Guard

Because not all cars with prestige are luxury cars. The Porsche 911 for example is hardly a mainstream vehicle, or everyday coupe, but it is not a luxury car. So as what are we going to categorize a Porsche 911 as, a regualr mainstream coupe? A luxury car? No, its a prestige vehicle. Prestige vehicles are all those vehicles which enjoy a high degree of esteem among the public but are not neccesarily luxury cars. Take Ferrari as another example, Ferraris are obviously prestige vehicles. But are they luxury vehicles? No. You, see many people make the mistake of calling every fancy car out there a luxury car, when that's simply not true. Super cars such as the Ferrari Enzo, or Prosche 911 Carerra, are not luxury cars, but they carry a lot of prestige. So to convey to our readers that a Porsche 911 may not be a luxury car but still carries prestige we need this category. Also, prestige is important factor in the car industry and thus needs to be mentioned. Fact is that certain vehicles carry a lot of prestige, which is one of their most important attributes in terms of marketing and therefore needs to be mentioned in any article regarding such vehicles.
