Pozarnica

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pozarnica is a village in the Tuzla sector of northeast Bosnia. It is on the northeast side of Tuzla on the Majevica mountain. During the Bosnian Civil War, the village was destroyed by Muslim forces attacking from Tuzla. Its original residents were forced to leave the village, which was occupied by the invading army. Today some original villagers are returning to Pozarnica. It is mostly occupied today by Muslim refugees from various parts of Bosnia. Before the war the village was predominately a Serb populated village, now the village has switched hands, while most of the rural areas are still owned by Serbs elsewhere in the world.
