Belthazor, after being warned by The Triad to eliminate the Charmed Ones or face execution, becomes desperate and strikes a deal with the demon, Andras. Andras infects the sisters with uncontrollable rage; so much so that they use their powers on each other, causing the Power of Three to be severed. Cole becomes conflicted over his feelings for Phoebe and his duty to evil though, and Andras takes possession of the lost soul, forcing him to attack the powerless Charmed Ones.

[edit] Enemies
- Andras: A Demon of Rage who can channel and unleash hidden rage in persons, as well as possess any being of his choosing.
- The Triad: A group of three high-level demons that direct some supernatural matters. They were quite high in the evil hierarchy. When they became aware of the existence of The Charmed Ones, they began sending demons to destroy them, including the demon Belthazor. The members of the Triad appeared as human males, but some had blackened eyes. Each had the ability to commune directly with The Source, the power to throw energy balls, the ability to teleport, and the power to manifest athames at will. Though their membership was known to change, the Triad was only ever comprised of three demons at a time.

[edit] Trivia
- This episode reunites actors Shannen Doherty and Jason Carter, who acted together in the previous series Beverly Hills 90210.
- Prue and Piper, at one point, were distressed that they couldn't locate Phoebe but didn't think about asking Leo to sense for her, which he routinely does. However, Leo may not have been able to sense her due to the fact that they had lost all of their powers.
- This episode marks the first time that Cole is on the run from The Source and his minions.
- Phoebe tells Cole that when she was fifteen years old, she had a job passing out balloons to children dressed in a penguin suit.
- The sisters use their powers against each other and sever the Power of Three. The Power of Three is only as strong as the sisters' bond. If the bond is broken the power ceases to exist. While this is the reason given for the loss of their powers, Prue was the only one to use her power in an aggressive manner. Phoebe levitated to avoid the object she threw, and Piper froze it so that it wouldn't hit her.
- This also happens again in the Season 6 episode, The Power of Three Blondes.
