PoweR Girls

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PoweR Girls was a reality TV series about press maven Lizzie Grubman mentoring a team of young hopeful publicists as they work their way in the world of celebrities, glamour and public relations to ultimately earn a permanent spot on Grubman's team (along with her respect). The show debuted on MTV on March 10, 2005, to a lukewarm response from critics. MTV would eventually remove the show from the air later that year. Only six episodes were produced in the first season.

As of October 2005, the New York Post reported that Grubman was said to be in talks with the various Viacom Networks to broadcast a second season of PoweR Girls. It was expected that MTV would not pick the show back up, but Grubman is believed to have signed a multi-year deal with Viacom so an airing on a sister network (such as UPN or VH1) is not out of the question. UPN is known for airing out-of-left-field reality shows such as Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.

Currently nothing more has been heard involving further production of the show, so it appears that PoweR Girls has been cancelled indefinitely
