Pow Wow Hill

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pow Wow Hill is a dome shaped glacial hill above the Bear Creek watershed overlooking Stout Creek Valley in central Cannon Township, Kent County, Michigan. The hill bears the peculiar feature of a round pit at its precise summit. Due to the hill's proximity to a rumored Native American settlement, local oral tradition has reputed the hill as a place of either Native American ceremony or a point from which smoke signals were to have been sent. The hill is privately owned but can be clearly distinguished on one's lefthand side if one is Eastbound on Seven Mile Rd. NE and has just crested the hill east of Stout Creek Valley.
