Povenets (Russian: Повенец; Finnish: Poventsa) is an urban-type settlement in Medvezhyegorsky District of the Republic of Karelia, Russia, located on the shore of Lake Onega, 231 km north of Petrozavodsk. Population: 2,608 (2002 Census); 4,208 (1989 Census).
