Possession and Acquisition Licence
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Possession and Acquisition Licence is a licence allowing a person in Canada to own and acquire firearms. One must pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (including both a written and practical exam) to obtain a non-restricted PAL. This allows a person to own and acquire long rifles and shotguns. One must also pass the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course to obtain a restricted PAL, which allows one to own and acquire firearms that are restricted by Canadian law, such as handguns.
