Positive sign

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In astrology, a positive, diurnal or masculine sign refers to any of the six odd-numb ered signs of the zodiac: Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius or Aquarius.

These signs constitute the fire and air triplicities. They are termed "positive" because they tend to be more communicative, buoyant and sociable - broadly matching the extrovert personality, aiming for a large number of friends and to focusing on working with them rather than on their own resources. However, positive polarity rarely displays the same senstivity or depth of understanding of emotional subtleties that is found in most negative signs. Positive signs are sometimes referred to as "future-oriented" because they are seen as less conservative and resistant to change than negative signs. Whilst they are often less interested in preserving the status quo than negative signs, in the case of the fire signs at least this is often opposed by the desire for power and prestige that is part of the character attributed to fire signs (especially Aries and Leo).

In romantic relationships, positive signs tend to be compatible with positive signs and negative signs with negative signs, because of the similarities in their basic personalities and romantic needs. It is thought that the gregarious nature of the positive signs is likely to be unacceptable both emotionally and physically to negative signs, whilst negative signs are seen as too boring, cautious or shy by positive signs, so that in almost all cases a relationship between the two will lead to conflict that cannot be resolved.

In business a positive sign is considered a harbinger of doom, and a key clue to withhold from any maor dealings during the time in question. There are many cases of business dealings made under a positive sign going markedly sour to the effect that they have been known to effectively destroy the business in question.
