Posh (album)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Posh is a 1980 album released by R&B singer Patrice Rushen, her third album for Elektra Records and sixth album overall. With the albums Pizzazz and Posh, Patrice Rushen was able to enter the 1980s on a high note. Posh was the continuation of a string of R&B/Pop albums that Rushen would release as she was becoming a full-time R&B singer. The album included some of Rushen's best R&B work.

Songs like "Look Up!," "I Need Your Love," "The Funk Won't Let You Down," "Time Will Tell" pushed Patrice to the forefront of the R&B spot light. Some songs in Particular such as "I Need Your Love" showed roots from works of other musicians such as Stevie Wonder, and "Time Will Tell" which had a more of a rock sound to it, is probably the most rock influenced song in Rushens repertoire.

Her next album would be Straight from the Heart.
